ROW HUNTSVILLE

Row Huntsville Competitive Youth rowing sets a paralleled standard for Youth development. Our Competitive Travel Squads are for youth athletes, experienced or novice (new to rowing), who are dedicated to improving their rowing skills and competing within a strong team environment at a very high level.

Athletes will be challenged to work hard and overcome barriers, both physically and mentally, within a strong team environment 5 days per week. Rowers learn the art of moving racing Shells while simultaneously developing life long skills in leadership and teambuilding. We believe that rowing offers athletes opportunities for great health, fitness, and collegiate opportunities, but at our sports highest expression we build essential relations between youth from all walks of life that would not be possible without the shared discipline of shells, oars, and water. We presently serve athletes from over 10 Public, Private and Home School Associations in Huntsville-Madison County.

Practice for this Squad occurs 5 times per week, off days being Wednesday and Sunday. There are 2 seasons we participate at Regattas - Fall and Spring. We do have Winter training practices that take place in December through February. Summers are for Learn to Row camps, training new rowers and developing technical components of existing rowing athletes. The determination for athletes to join the Competitive Squad is at the discretion of the Director/Head Coach with counsel from squad coaches. It is based upon a number of factors - Age, Physical and Emotional maturity, Performance Testing and of course the Technical Skills to compete at a high level.

Seasonal program fees cover:  A highly trained and certified Coaching Staff, state of the art equipment for both practice and racing, all operational expenses the program incurs for Safety and licensing with the State of Alabama, the City of Huntsville and US Rowing. Additional expenses are invoiced to each family for their athlete and would include - Regatta Entry Fees, Equipment Transport truck and trailering, Regatta day food, athlete transportation or hotel stay expenses and season end banquets or events.  Upon registration for any program please review our refund/cancelation/waiver policy.
